Trailside Elementary School & Home in Partnership (SHiP)
Trailside Elementary School & Home in Partnership (SHiP) is a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), consisting of parental figures and staff working together to support and enrich all students. We support school staff, help promote student self-esteem, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and funding.
The purpose of the SHiP is to bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parental figures and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of students, and to develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children the highest advantages in academic, physical, mental, social and emotional health. The SHiP shall seek to promote collaboration between invested adults, school, and the community at large.
The Trailside Elementary School & Home in Partnership PTO believes that everyone with a vested interest in a Trailside Trailblazer can be a member of this group. This includes anyone within the home and school setting. There are no membership dues for this organization.
To be a voting member of the SHiP a vested person will need to commit to one of the following; attend SHiP monthly meetings, volunteer at SHiP sponsored events, serve on a committee for a SHiP event, or donate money towards the fundraising efforts of the SHiP. This ensures good stewardship, shown by generosity of time, talent, or treasure to contribute to the welfare of the students of Trailside Elementary. Voting members must be present for the vote and be on the voting roster at least 24 hours prior to the vote.
SHiP meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of the month unless otherwise indicated. The calendar of events will be maintained by the SHiP executive board and will be communicated with families via the Trailside family calendar and school communications.
